The Cleveland Police Department was re-accredited for the fifth time in Chicago Illinois , through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) on July 21, 2022. The Cleveland Police Department is also accredited through the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP) since 2012.

We are currently authorized for 105 Certified Police Officers, and 11 full-time civilian employees, along with one part-time civilian employee, 13 School Crossing Guards and six Animal Control employees. We also maintain an excellent Volunteer Program consisting of a 15 member Public Service Unit and a nine member Chaplain Unit.

The success of the Cleveland Police Department is due to the hard-working and talented men and women that make up our Department. Our primary objective is to ensure a high quality of life for our citizens by promoting safety and lowering the crime rate. We are here to help you.

I can assure you that we will be courteous, professional, honest, proactive, and responsive in the fulfillment of our duties. We will work diligently to become better every day and look forward to working cooperatively with the community to build your respect and trust.
