CLEVELAND, TN – This past weekend the city of Cleveland's Stormwater Division co-sponsored the 30th annual Tennessee River Rescue Stream Cleanup in Cleveland.
Approximately fifty-nine volunteers participated in this year’s event. Volunteers were from: the Cleveland community (7), Cleveland High School (29), Cleveland State Community College (5), The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (2), Girl Scouts (11) and Lee University (5).
Volunteers collected thirty-six bags of trash, four tires, a shopping cart, laundry hamper, floor mat, carpet, wood piece and four garbage bags of plastic bottles to be recycled.
This year’s sponsors for the event included: city of Cleveland Stormwater, Cleveland High School, Bradley County Stormwater, Rock/Creek and Keep Cleveland/Bradley Beautiful.
