The Development and Engineering Services Department is responsible for a wide range of activities ranging from building and plumbing inspections/issuance of building permits, review of plans for new development, administration of zoning codes, preparation of plans and specifications for City street and sidewalk construction projects, all water quality issues, floodplain management, administering grant applications from a variety of funding sources to supplement City funds on applicable projects, identifying and inspecting violations of our City codes, responding to complaints and requests for service concerning property and building maintenance, prevention and detection of code violations City wide.
The department is comprised of five divisions.
